Seal Beach Lions Club - ELECTION of CLUB OFFICERS

The Seal Beach Lions Club will have its election for the 2010-2011 Officers at the club meeting on April 7, 2010. A Nominating Committee was appointed by the President to present a slate of nominees to the membership. This slate will be presented to the membership at the March 24th nominations meeting. Nominations from the floor can be made at the meeting on March 24, 2010. No nominations can be taken after this meeting.


If you are interested in holding office next year, please indicate those offices in an email to Nominations Committee member Lion Scott Newton by March 3rd. Please note that you may select more than one office.

You may also turn in the attached form at the club meeting on March 3rd.

PRESIDENT
Chief Executive officer of the club. This Lion shall preside at all meetings of the Board and the Club.

SECRETARY
The recording Officer of the Club. This Lion is responsible for the minutes of all of the meetings. The Secretary is the Liaison Officer between the Club, the District and the International Association. Also responsible for the preparation of the monthly M & A reports.

TREASURER
The Financial Officer of the Club. This Lion receives and accounts for all moneys and deposits in the bank; and is responsible for all financial reports to the Board of Directors

FIRST VICE PRESIDENT
Serves as Chairman of Committees designated by the President. In the absence of the President, this Lion shall preside at the meetings of both Club and Board of Directors. Is responsible for selecting chairpersons for all projects and events.
SECOND VICE PRESIDENT
Serves as Chairman of Committees designated by the President. In the absence of the President and First Vice President, this Lion shall preside at the meetings of both Club and Board of Directors. Serves as Visitation Chairman.
THIRD VICE PRESIDENT
Serves as Chairman of Committees designated by the President. Serves as Program Chairman.

TAIL TWISTER
The Club Officer who keeps his eyes and ears open and capitalizes on all humorous situations that arise to promote harmony, fellowship, comedy and enthusiasm during the meetings. This Lion imposes and collects fines on Club Members.
LION TAMER
These officers are responsible for the Club’s property. These Lions put the banners, flags and bell in their proper places before each meeting. Acts as Sergeant-at-Arms. Also, is responsible for all club property used for fundraising.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
This Lion acts as chairman of the three person Membership Committee. This Lion is responsible for membership growth and retention.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS (8)
The Club Officers and the Board of Directors oversees all Club business, the development of Club policy and communications to the general membership. Responsible for execution of Club policies and approval of expenditure of funds. Each board member will be assigned at least one chairmanship each year.
